Staihevo (5x4 inches, framed)

Oil on canvas board, 2019, Titus Castanza. Signed lower right. The frame is a nice little find I picked up in an antique store. This painting is part of a new abstract paintings series which involves cuting-out a detail of a previous painting, remounting it and adding any details which occur to me. I liked the abstraction of this smaller area, so it was worth sacrificing the larger whole by cropping it out. The stamp in the upper left is a nod to my Collage Ensemble series. I was in the midst of putting the larger series together when this tiny work accidentally created itself.
