Renowned for its fertile, igneous rock-derived soils, Ruvuma is one of Tanzania's top coffee-producing areas. 𝗡𝗮𝗺𝗸𝘂 𝗔𝗺𝗰𝗼𝘀 - Established in 2020, Namku Agricultural Marketing Cooperative Society is a dynamic group of 330 members. The cooperative runs its own washing station and is dedicated to environmental stewardship by minimising pollutant release, monitoring wastewater and advocating for afforestation to promote sustainability. APCERL (Asociación de Productores de Café Ecológico Regional Larecaja) was founded in 2001 by 120 growers in Bolivia’s La Paz region. Based in the lush valleys of Madidi National Park, APCERL has been Organic Certified since 2002 and proudly holds the Smithsonian “Bird Friendly” certification. With a strong focus on shade-grown, environmentally responsible coffee, this group leads the way in sustainable production within protected areas. Their washed microlots—mainly Catimor, Catuai, and Caturra—are grown at 1,350 MASL, harvested June to October, and processed with care through daily picking, 12–18 hour fermentation, and traditional washing and drying.
