British Royal Navy Admiral Telescope Circa 1840

Telescope of Sir Edmund Lyons, 1st Baron Lyons, GCB, GCMG, eminent British admiral of the Royal Navy. This long-barreled scope is covered in fine brown leather. The brasses are nickel-plated. Engraved: "Sir Edmund Lyons" and "A. Ross, London." Admiral Lyons was a big part of naval operations in the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov (1854-1856).
