VINTAGE 1970’s TISSOT SEASTAR F-1 STAINLESS-STEEL CALIBRE 2030 QUARTZ BOX & PAPERS
VINTAGE 1970’s TISSOT SEASTAR F-1 STAINLESS-STEEL CALIBRE 2030 QUARTZ BOX & PAPERS. This very cool gentlemen’s Tissot is a great example of the companies quartz ‘Seastar’ range of waterproof watches. Manufactured in the early 1970’s. This particular watch, the F-1 model was inspired by the companies sponsorship of the Lotus formula one team during the early 70’s. Using the calibre 2030 movement, one of the very first true quartz movements by any manufacturer. The substantial stainless steel case measures 35mm across the bezel, not including the crown and 43mm tip-to-tip. The case is in good condition, with no dings or serious scratches and the chemical-black serrated bezel is close to perfect, with none of the wear or dings that they usually have. The black dial is absolutely beautiful, one of the best that we have seen. The baton divisions and hands are in perfect condition, still retaining their original luminous filling. The original crown is still present and in perfect condition with no wear. The watch works faultlessly and keeps very good time, not surprising as the calibre 2030 movement was exceptionally reliable. On the original steel Tissot bracelet with folding clasp and in good condition. A full length also which will fit any size of wrist. Complete with the original box and owners operating booklet from when it was new. A very, very cool watch.
