Handcrafted Wood Jewelry (June 25th, 6:00 - 9:30 PM) with Evan Blackburn
Join a hands-on jewelry-making class at the Ottawa City Woodshop where creativity meets craftsmanship. In this guided workshop, participants will design and create their own wooden jewelry—choose between crafting a unique pair of earrings or a custom pendant. You’ll be introduced to a range of woodworking tools and techniques, including shaping your design with a bandsaw, scroll saw, or traditional Japanese hand saw. Precision drilling on the drill press and smoothing with various sanders will help bring your piece to a polished finish. Along the way, you’ll learn essential skills for working safely and confidently with wood, all in a supportive, beginner-friendly environment. By the end of the class, you’ll leave with a beautifully handcrafted piece of jewelry and the knowledge to continue exploring small-scale woodworking projects.
