The smell comes from VOCs, which are chemical compounds that are released into the air when a new product made of materials like polyurethane foam (PUR) is first opened. The smell is expected to dissipate over time. The primary recommendation is to leave the Jelly Blox in a well-ventilated area for an hour or two, or potentially several days, to allow the VOCs to dissipate. You can wash the blocks with mild soap and warm water. This is also recommended for regular cleaning.
