Large Heavy Kantha Blanket Quilt With Lik Phul Stitching In Pink and Orange

Originally made as a light floor covering or seat cover, this heavy kantha quilt is embroidered with intricate Holbein stitches in a zig zag pattern known as Lik Phul (square stitch). This style is a very heavy weight, almost as thick as a woven kilim rug, so it works beautifully draped over a sofa, a bench or on the bed as a very warm blanket. The all-over stitching is beautifully done. Up close you'll see an ombré stripe within the diamond pattern, a fabulous detail that makes this quilt extra special. As a true vintage textile, it carries the charm of its past life.
