A Regency Amboyna Centre Table in the manner of George Oakley (1760-1840)
The circular top, the central part of amboyna with a band of birds eye maple, then two outside bands of contrasting amboyna. With an inlaid string of ebony with fleur-de-lys detail and an outer band of brass inlaid. Raised on an elm column with central writhen baluster. On a tripod, amboyna base with brass, paw feet and inset castors. Superb quality and colour. English circa 1820 The use of inlaid brass and ebony against the amboyna is very much the style of George Oakley (1760-1840). Diameter 104 cm 41 inches Height 71 cm 27.9 inches
