Acer 'Red Flamingo' is a hybrid acer x conspicuum which features variegated leaves and striped bark. This fabulous acer emerges a vibrant pink which develops into a variegated green containing that stunning pink colour that marbles the leaf. Younger leaves will display the strongest colours and patterns, whilst more mature foliage often turns a darker green adding depth to the display of colour. The 'Red Flamingo' acer is also known as Snake Bark Maple for its snake skin like features that provide interest all year round. This tree will eventually grow to 5m x 4m in 20 years, but can be pruned to shape to keep it contained. You can plant this acer the ground or in a pot provided it has free draining soil and is shelted from harsh winds. Full or partial sun is preferred.
