‘Spring Landscape’ Needle Felting Workshop
Join us for a relaxed and friendly needle felting workshop where you’ll learn to create your very own Spring landscape of rolling green hills and flower fields with wool roving and batting. Perfect for beginner and intermediate creatives, this session offers a gentle introduction to the art of 2D needle felting in a warm, welcoming environment. Under the guidance of an experienced tutor, you’ll be shown techniques how to use the different size needles whilst we follow step by step instructions to bring your piece to life with rich autumnal colours and textures. You will learn; The variation and uses of barbed needle felting needles How different wools suit various fibreart experiences. How to safely use the needles, tips, tricks and tools to assist your project How to mount your work in an embroidery hoop with a clean finish. Under the guidance of experienced tutor Amanda, you’ll be shown techniques of how to use the different size needles whilst you follow step by step instructions to bring your landscape to life (with the option of flexibility to create your own unique landscape). All materials, tools and safety materials are provided, and you’ll leave with a beautiful handmade decoration placed in a hoop – perfect for hanging on a wall, seasonal displays or as a unique gift. Date & Time: Saturday 10th October 10.00am to 1.00pm OR Saturday 7th November 10.00am to 1.00pm The studio will be open from 9.45am. Please be ready to start your workshop at 10am so that you don’t miss any important information. If you are late to class, you may be asked to wait until a suitable pause in tuition when your tutor will come and get you and catch you up so you do not interrupt the flow of the workshop. Venue: Whimsical Creatives Rear 183 Maroondah Hwy, Healesville VIC 3777 (Entry via Church Street/River Street Carpark) Tutor: Amanda of ‘Button & Bean’. Amanda has always been drawn to the arts and the act of creating—it’s been a constant thread throughout her life. Whether through painting, writing, design, or experimenting with new mediums, the creative process has always offered her a sense of purpose and joy. She feels there is something deeply satisfying about learning a new skill, watching it take shape through practice, and seeing an idea come to life through her own hands. As a teacher, Amanda loves watching her students learn and grow. It is important to her to create a friendly, calm and welcoming environment so that all learners can achieve and enjoy the process of creating, no matter where they are on their learning journey, or their age, in a nurturing environment. Skill Level: This class is open to all skill levels including beginners and beyond. No prior experience is necessary – just bring your creativity and enjoy a mindful, hands-on craft session. Teens aged 16+ are welcome to attend, however children 12+ may attend with a paying adult. *Please note, if your child is one of our Art Adventures students and would like to do this workshop, please reach out as we may be able to make an exception regarding age/paying adult due to their experience with needle felting. Cost: $120 all inclusive. Workshop Price includes: – Tuition – All materials including felt, embroidery hoop, 3 needles, foam block, wool, backing fabric (you will be able to take all these home with you also) – Consumables – Morning tea (please let us know of any intolerances or allergies and we’ll do our best to accommodate you) – Tea/coffee – Loyalty card stamp! EFTPOS & Credit Card Facilities Available. All bookings require a non-refundable deposit to be secure, with the balance to be paid on the day of the workshop. Extra Information Regarding COVID/Illness: We ask that you remember that we are a small business run by someone with chronic illnesses. Many of our visitors are also immune compromised. Please do not visit the studio if you are unwell in any way. Thank you for your understanding. Why Do a Workshop with Us? Here’s what makes us different from other creative spaces. All our Tutors are experienced in teaching and have many years of experience working with their respective mediums/in their field of expertise – for most of our tutors this is over 15 years experience. Our workshop sizes are small with no more than 12 students. We provide a friendly, inviting space and cater for many challenges you may face (health issues, food intolerances, anxiety, etc.). Many of our students (and some of our tutors) suffer from chronic illness and have special needs. If you have any concerns, please feel free to reach out to Dani who will do her best to help you out; We use only high quality materials/products in our workshops and myself and our Tutors are familiar with how these work and can give you accurate information/answers to your questions; Students are able to browse our 1500+ products and purchase if they wish to either before, during or after their workshop; We offer payment plan options on most workshops as we understand that finances can be tight (please email if you’d like to take advantage of this); We offer a workshop Loyalty Program – receive one stamp per half day workshop and two stamps for a full day – when you collect 10 stamps, your loyalty card turns into a $50 voucher! We are fully insured and there is always someone on site who has a Level 2 first aid qualification and asthma management training. All tutors who are working with children have current, valid Working with Children Checks. We offer ‘after workshop’ support for all our students. Students can ask questions of our tutors and refresh any information they need to after the workshop via email, phone or in our Facebook group especially for students.
