A hollyhock in full spike — dozens of double blooms climbing two tall stems, opening from deep rose at the base to the palest pink at the tip. Tommy Mitchell cuts and layers each ruffled petal from wafer-thin copper and brass, then hand-paints them with the soft, variegated depth of a real bloom. Potted in aged terracotta. It holds its full height and color through every season, asking nothing. Signed by the artist, handmade in North Carolina.
