Ethiopia | Banko Gotiti
Banko Gotiti is a town in Kochere, within the region of Gedeb. Farmers here grow coffee at elevations of 2,000–2,100 MASL on small forested plots, some as small as 0.1 hectares. Within the town lies the Eva Washing Station, where this lot was processed. This marks our first Ethiopian coffee from the new harvest, processed in December 2025.The cup is refreshing and clean, showcasing everything we love about Ethiopian coffees. We taste tropical citrus and lemongrass up front, cooling into peach rings and honey. The Eva Washing Station was established in 2023 on 2.5 hectares of land. The site works with 868 local farmers who deliver cherries here throughout the harvest. Quality and traceability are central focuses at Eva - each delivery is carefully logged with the farmer’s name, location, and quantity for full record keeping. We are excited to start this year's Ethiopian releases with this beautiful lot. Cherries are picked at peak ripeness and floated upon delivery. The ripe cherries are then depulped, and left to ferment underwater for 24-48 hours. Following fermentation the seeds are thoroughly rinsed to remove all mucilage. They are then moved to drying beds where they dry for 10-15 day
