How to Use Wash your hands and remove the protective wrapper. Find a comfortable position to help relax your muscles. Insertion is easiest while standing with your knees slightly bent and apart, or with one foot resting on the toilet. Unwind the tampon string and give it a quick, firm tug to ensure both ends are securely attached. Place your index finger in the indentation at the base of the tampon. Gently insert the tampon into the vagina; keeping your body relaxed will make this easier. Slide the tampon into the vagina as far as it will comfortably go, angling it slightly upward. The string will remain outside your body. Once correctly positioned, you shouldn’t feel the tampon at all. If you feel any discomfort, it means it hasn’t been inserted deeply enough. Simply remove it and insert a new one. Wash your hands.
