Unlike traditional Beni Ourain rugs from established village ateliers, the Sabah line is curated and produced under our own design direction — every piece a one-off, each signed by the hand that made it. This piece was hand-knotted in the Khenifra region of Morocco from 100% imported fine merino wool on a wool foundation, with a deep pile of 18 to 22 mm. The merino construction gives a softer haptic underfoot than the traditional hand-spun Berber wool. The 215 × 140 cm format is one of the most versatile sizes in the collection — large enough to anchor a seating group, small enough to hold its own in compact spaces. Colour and Composition A quiet, contemporary composition: soft beige ground with subtle orange accents. Where vintage Berbers carry their stories in patina, Sabah pieces are built fresh — pristine condition, freshly woven, the merino pile in full loft. Three contexts in which the Sabah reaches its full effect: Living-room reading corner: the deep pile and soft palette work as anchor for a single armchair or quiet seating group. Foot of a queen-size bed: the merino surface beside the bed gives a warm tactile floor for bare feet at start and end of day. Minimalist scheme: as a soft-edged anchor in a deliberately reduced interior, the beige-and-orange palette adds warmth without visual noise.
