Description This fine silver one-ounce maple leaf coin commemorates the sacrifices made by Allied veterans on the 60th anniversary of D-Day (June 6, 1944) during the Second World War. This is the first double-privy-mark coin ever minted by the Royal Canadian Mint. To the left of the maple leaf stem, a privy mark of an Allied infantryman with a rifle, wading ashore at Normandy, is depicted. To the right appears the commemoration "D-Day 6-6-44 Jour-J."
