Kazemachi Roman 1971 URC #MHJL371, Japanese pressing 1x LP, Limited Edition RSD 2024, 180grm Active from 1969 to 1973, the pioneering Tokyo band Happy End merged Western-style psychedelic folk rock with poetic Japanese-language lyrics. By proving rock could be successfully sung in their native tongue, they sparked Japan's foundational language-rock movement, ultimately paving the way for modern J-pop and city pop. featuring Haruomi Hosono, Eiichi Ohtaki, Takashi Matsumoto and Shigeru Suzuki formed by Hosono and Matsumoto (Honsono became part of YMO) The song Kazemachi Roman, was included in the 'Lost in Translation' Soundtrack. Do we liken them to 'The Byrds' or 'CSN'? Condition As New pressing- I call this the 'Four fellas' album because I could never work out the name!
