Lighthearted Mittens Knitting Pattern

Lighthearted Mittens uses the same heart motif as the Wholehearted patterns. Tiny hearts dance across these mittens on both sides and the thumb. These are a fitted style and very comfortable and toasty. Main pattern is written for an average adult female sized hand with gauge suggestions for adjustments. Skills needed - How to read a knitting chart, stranded colorwork knitting, how to increase and decrease stitches, how to put stitches on hold for thumb Materials: Fingering weight yarn: MC~ 225 yards/ 205 meters CC ~ 90 yards/ 83 meters US 1/ 2.25mm needles (shorties, DPNs, and/ or circular needles for magic loop method) *Stitch marker(s) *Tapestry needle *Scissors *Scrap yarn for thumb (smooth is best, ~12”) Finished size if knit according to gauge: Circumference: ~20.5cm/ 8” Total length (including cuff): ~24.75cm/ 9.75” Palm length (from thumb hole to tip): ~ 14cm/ 5.5” Suggested st gauges (fair isle blocked) for other finished circumferences: 7.5” —-> 42sts 8.5” —-> 38 sts 9” —-> 36 sts Gauge: 40 sts x 42 rounds 4” x 4” colorwork pattern in the round, blocked Craft: KNITTING Skill Level: Intermediate Language: English only
