This coffee comes from the Kibingo washing station in Kayanza, northern Burundi, where 1,739 smallholder farmers from 18 surrounding hills deliver their coffee cherries during harvest. The station works closely with producers throughout the year, supporting farm renovation, sustainability projects and quality improvements across the region. Produced from Red Bourbon, Burundi's most celebrated coffee variety, this lot undergoes a natural process. After careful hand-sorting, the cherries are dried slowly on raised beds for several weeks, allowing sweetness and fruit character to develop while maintaining clarity and balance in the cup. In the cup, expect a sweet and rounded profile with notes of cherry cola and Jaffa Cake. A gentle citrus character runs through the coffee, adding lift and balance without dominating the cup. The result is a coffee that is approachable, comforting and incredibly easy to enjoy. While not a coffee that shouts for attention, it showcases exactly why we love great natural Burundian coffees. Sweet, balanced and packed with character, it is the kind of coffee that keeps you coming back for another cup.
