In partnership with the Antique Gas & Steam Engine Museum and The Staff of Life, we’re supporting the launch of one of the only Wheat Guilds in the country—a community space centered around grain, bread, and the craft that connects them. This is an open call to anyone curious about baking, milling, or working with real grain. Whether you want to teach, learn sourdough, understand heritage wheat, mill your own flour, or simply be part of something hands-on and local—this is where it starts. The museum is a nonprofit, supported by its members and the community. Moving forward, classes and workshops will be available to members, with discounted pricing built in. It’s a way to support the space while building something lasting. The property already hosts active guilds like blacksmithing and weaving—and now, the Whole Wheat Guild joins them. We’ll be working out of a large assembly hall and a commercial kitchen that’s currently being rebuilt into a dedicated teaching and production space. Our first gathering is free. We’ll bring bread, along with a group of presenters—millers, farmers, and chefs. Together, we’ll introduce sourdough, wheat milling, heritage grains, and access to organic flour. We’ll also walk the space and share what’s coming next, including a full calendar of classes, workshops, and ways to get involved. This is the beginning of something long-term—a place to learn, to practice, and to be part of a working system built around real food.
