Description Learn to design, warp, and weave your own handwoven scarf. In this two-session class, students will design and weave a handwoven scarf using a rigid heddle loom. You’ll learn how to select yarn that works with your loom, plan your project, and weave a balanced plain weave fabric. This is a TWO day class Saturday 10am to 4pm and Sunday 12pm to 4pm October 3rd and October 4th Class Project: o Students will weave a scarf approximately: o 7 to 8 inches wide o 60 to 72 inches long (plus fringe) What You’ll Learn How to choose yarn for warp and weft How to match yarn to your reed Direct warping on a rigid heddle loom Maintaining even tension Weaving consistent plain weave Hemstitching and finishing techniques Skills needed for the class General weaving terminology and some familiarity with a rigid heddle loom Supplies for class use included with the Class: Your own rigid heddle loom with an 8 or 10 dent reed, Shuttle, Scissors If you would like to rent a loom, please reach out to the store Yarn selected day of class Location: The Rogue Skein, 1013 Main Street, Kerrville, TX 78028 Teacher: Rick Hineline of Warped Rabbit Skill Level: Beginner to Advanced The supplies will be available in store.
