Soda fired Ash Glazed Hand Thrown Ceramic Vessel
Drippy. Soda fired rustic hand thrown ceramic vessel. Would make a nice small vase, small container, or a larger tumbler or cup. Soda glazed in an atmospheric firing that created nice flashing effects on the clay body surface. Top was dipped in an ash glaze that reacted nicely to the firing and dripped and ran down the side. Interior has a glazed liner that also reacted beautifully to atmospheric firing. It is about 4.125 inches high, has approximately a 3.5 inch mouth and is 3.5 inches at its widest. Pottery and ceramics made by Nathan Cearley for Species by the Thousands here in the Catskills region.
