Indian Ringneck Violet Harlequin aka Chatter-box parrot
The Indian ringneck parakeet, also known as the rose-ringed parakeet, is a very beautiful bird, as well as a popular pet. They are a very social bird and can become an excellent companion for the entire family. The bluffing stage in Indian Ringnecks is a temporary, hormonal adolescent phase (usually 4 months to 1 year old) where they become aggressive, nippy, and territorial, often lunging or screaming. It mimics biting, but they are testing boundaries; it generally lasts a few weeks to months. Confident, consistent handling without punishing or avoiding them helps them pass this phase. Both male and females can mimic speech. Females are known to be a little more affectionate. No bird is EVER guaranteed to talk, and choosing one should not be based on that alone. Our babies are disease tested to ensure they are healthy.
