Original self-portrait caricature of the great tenor, showing his head in profile wearing the costume of Radames from Verdi's Aida, a role he performed at the Metropolitan Opera three times in the year of the present drawing. Signed at lower right, "Enrico Caruso / New York, 1911." 7 1/2x4 3/4 inches; moderate even toning overall, faint marginal discoloration from prior matting, short closed tear in upper edge repaired verso with cello tape.
