Paphiopedilum QF Yellow Bird (Toni Semple x lowii alba)

Paphiopedilum QF Yellow Bird is a 2023 Quintal Farms registration crossing Paph. Toni Semple with the alba form of Paph. lowii. Because Toni Semple is itself Paph. haynaldianum × Paph. lowii, this grex leans hard into lowii: long, spoon-tipped petals held out like wings and several flowers to a stem, with the album parent steering the color toward clean yellow and soft green. Its species ancestors come from Southeast Asian forests, where lowii grows as an epiphyte from Malaysia and Borneo to Sulawesi and haynaldianum grows in the Philippines. Give bright, indirect light, 60–90°F, a free-draining bark mix and even moisture. No calcium supplement needed. Blooming size — photos are representative of the plant size and maturity available. A young Quintal Farms grex in limited numbers.
