100% Cashmere | New York-Knit In 1964, at the age of 31, Anne LaBastile built a cozy 12” by 12” cabin on the shores of “Black Bear Lake,” five miles and a mountain away from the nearest settlement. Here, removed from society, Anne perfected her writing and devoted her life to homesteading and conservation. She lived here alone for forty years, publishing five books including her famous “Woodswoman,” offering four memoirs of her life in the mountains and her relationship with the wilderness. Anne’s original cabin can now be found at the Adirondack Experience history museum in Blue Mountain Lake. The Anne Cardigan is knit from one hundred percent Scottish cashmere in a lightweight construction with a relaxed silhouette that drapes naturally.
