45 ft Ground Training Line
45-Foot Ground Training Line Take your communication with your horse to the next level with our 45-Foot Ground Training Line. Designed by Parelli, this softened version of a Roping Lariat is an essential tool for developing your horsemanship skills from the ground at greater distances. It is especially useful for Level 3 to Level 4 On Line training and for advancing your connection, timing, and feel. Available Colors: White Green Product Features 45-Foot Triple X softened, 3/8-inch diameter lariat rope designed for horse handling. Features a Honda loop on the end for quick-change accessories such as a snap or carabiner. Includes a swivel snap that attaches to the Honda loop to reduce tension and prevent the rope from coiling under your horse’s chin when connected to a halter. Suitable for all climates, including damp environments. The lariat material resists absorbing dirt and water, helping it maintain its feel without becoming heavy or soggy. Soft twist construction, similar to a quality ranch rope used for handling and working with animals. This is not a stiff roping rope. Pro tip: Continue using the rope until the wax coating wears off and the rope becomes fully broken in. Provides excellent sensitivity and feel, making it ideal for developing clearer communication with your horse. Also known as: 45-Foot Line, 45-Foot Lariat, 45-Foot Lariat Rope. Pat Parelli intentionally designed this nylon lariat with a softened lay for horse handling. As Pat says, "It has life, sensitivity, and lightness." Improve your handiness, your drive and draw, the clarity of your phases, and your overall connection with your horse. The 45-Foot Ground Training Line is especially useful for working with wild or under-developed horses because it allows maximum drift for the horse while giving the handler greater freedom and precision. Pat Parelli’s first horse training mentor was Troy Henry from Clovis, California. Troy introduced Pat to the psychological advantages of teaching horses their basic education on the ground in a round corral and on line. Troy always used a 45-foot line, requiring a high level of athletic ability, timing, and feel from the handler. When Pat began conducting clinics in the early 1980s, it became clear that while the 45-foot line was a powerful tool, it was not always the best starting point for every student. This led to the development of shorter 12-foot and 22-foot lines. The difference between the 45-foot training line and the shorter lines is the material. While yachting braid is softer on the hands, the 45-foot line uses a lightweight Triple Soft Lariat material that provides a unique feel and sensitivity that horses respond to. The 45-foot rope helps develop communication because horses are highly aware of distance, pressure, and approach. When used correctly, this tool teaches your horse to stay connected and respond to your suggestions, even from a greater distance. With correct use, your horse will learn to seek connection and follow your guidance, even when the rope is dropped.
