Bottlebrush (Callistemon) is one of Australia’s best-known native shrubs, and its brush-shaped flowers bring honeyeaters and lorikeets into gardens across the country. On this bookmark, a flower spike and its slender leaves print white on deep blue, from my handmade cyanotype. It’s slim enough for a paperback and long enough for a hardback, with the design on both sides. The sleeve has space for a message, so you can write your thank-you straight onto it. Give one to a teacher at the end of the year, or to a native gardener who has everything else. Pair it with my Grevillea bookmark for a small native flower set.
