The combination brings together the bold spice, ripe fruit and charred oak character of Stauning R.Y.E. with layers of dark berries, ripe plums and sweet red fruit. Made from locally sourced rye and barley, 100% floor-malted at the distillery, and produced from grain to glass using traditional production methods. The whisky was distilled on June 21st, 2020. As the whisky continues towards eight years of maturation, the port cask adds richness and fruit to the rye while allowing the underlying spice and oak character to remain clearly present. Expect notes of bold rye spice, ripe cherry, citrus and charred wood, layered with dark berries, ripe plums and sweet red fruit.
