Bvlgari Parentesi Vintage Pendant Necklace 18k White Gold

The Parentesi motif — two brackets facing each other with a bar between — is pierced straight through a thick, rounded-rectangle plaque of 18k white gold. Not engraved. Not applied. Cut, so you can see daylight through the arches at top and bottom and the three horizontal channels that cross the center. The negative space does the drawing. The polished gold around it just holds the shape. Turn it over and the back is more complex than the front. The interlocking form is repeated in relief, with cutouts running around the perimeter and the stacked lines in the middle — the kind of finish you’d only do if you expected the piece to flip over on the chain, which it will. The pendant measures 1.25" in length by 1/2", and is suspended by an adjustable 17.5" necklace.
