Only a handful of original pieces survive, mostly kept in museums. It faithfully copies the classic shape and hand-painted scene of rooster, hen and chicks, symbolizing family harmony. Made with traditional doucai technique: outlined in underglaze blue and fired at 1280°C, then filled with enamel colours and re-fired at 800°C. The double firing requires precise temperature control.
