Banjo Vino Massé
Massé is an orange wine for the curious and the cautious alike. It’s made in the Languedoc from a blend of Grenache Blanc, Grenache Gris, Roussanne and Viognier, an aromatic mix of southern white grapes. Orange wine is simply white wine made with skin contact, and Massé is a gentle, approachable introduction to the style. The grapes spend ten days on their skins, which is long enough to give the wine its colour and a little texture, but short enough to keep it fresh and easy to drink. There’s very little astringency, just a hint of tannin to give shape. That balance is what makes it so accessible, even for people who haven’t tried skin-contact wines before. In the glass, expect stone fruit, white flowers and a twist of citrus zest, finishing with a delicate, savoury bitterness that adds depth and makes the finish refreshing. Organic, unfiltered and made with minimal sulphur, Massé is a great example of Banjo Vino’s philosophy: natural wine that’s open-hearted and deliciously drinkable.
