The calibration is a standard three-point calibration performed by our ISO/IEC 17025 accredited partner laboratory, carried out at the time of purchase so your thermocouple arrives already calibrated and accompanied by its certificate. There is nothing to send away and no downtime: you simply add the calibration to your thermocouple, and we handle the rest before it ships. Choose the Level of Calibration You Need We offer two options so you only pay for what your application requires. A commercial NIST-traceable calibration provides measurements traceable to national standards and a calibration certificate documenting the results at each point, which is ideal for general process use, internal quality checks, and routine verification. A fully accredited ISO/IEC 17025 calibration is performed under the laboratory's accreditation scope and includes reported measurement uncertainties, making it the right choice when you need third-party accredited results for regulated industries, formal audits, or a documented quality system. Standard Three-Point Calibration Each calibration is performed at three temperature points, which are listed in the table below. These points are chosen to bracket the temperature range most thermocouples are used in, so your sensor is verified across the span that matters for your process. If your application calls for different temperatures, custom calibration points are available on request. What You Receive Your thermocouple arrives with a calibration certificate that documents the reading at each of the three points and the traceability of the measurement. Frequently Asked Questions Which calibration should I choose? If you need documented, traceable accuracy for general use and internal quality control, the commercial NIST-traceable calibration is usually sufficient. If you operate in a regulated industry or need accredited results with stated uncertainties for audits or a formal quality system, choose the accredited ISO/IEC 17025 calibration. Can I calibrate at different temperatures than the three listed? Yes. Custom calibration points are available on request. Contact us with the temperatures you need and we will confirm them before your order is processed. Does this add to my delivery time? Yes. Because the calibration is performed by our partner lab before your thermocouple ships, it typically adds 1 to 2 weeks of lead time. If you have a deadline, let us know and we will do our best to accommodate it. Can I add this to a thermocouple I already own? No. This calibration service is only available for thermocouples purchased through IOThrifty and is performed on the sensor you order with it. What if I need more or less points?
