Torabhaig embraces its local community and culture: employing local people to be distillers; championing local products in their gift shop; sponsoring the local shinty team; partnering with the National Centre for Gaelic Language and Culture. Taigh is Torabhaig's first core expression and it reflects their distillery style, 'smoke with taste'. Taigh means ‘hill of peat’ in Gaelic which reflects the beautiful wild, dramatic Island of Skye. This dram is matured in a combination of bourbon, refill bourbon and Madeira casks, creating a subtly peated malt which is balanced and elegant. Nose: soft seaside embers and flint smoke meet baked apple, maple syrup and gentle spice. Palate: smooth and lightly oily, with vanilla custard, toasted almond and sweet dried fruits wrapped in elegant smoke. Finish: warm and lingering, with cinnamon, clove and a persistent, welcoming glow.
