Nessaea hewitsonii

Nessaea hewitsonii is a butterfly from tropical America remarkable for the striking contrast between its saturated turquoise blue patches and the velvety black background of its wings. The color forms well-defined patches that give the species a graphic and highly recognizable appearance. Presented in a hermetically sealed glass-fronted box, it is enhanced by a black frame on a white background. Each specimen is carefully identified by a calligraphed label, indicating its Latin name and origin. A brass plaque engraved with the name Deyrolle certifies the authenticity of this unique piece, from our collections.
