Ethiopia Daanisa
ETHIOPIA Region: Guji Altitude: 2,000-2,200 MASL Variety: JARC Process: Natural Certification: Organic Producers: 44 Smallholder Growers Grown in Sukkee Qutto, Oddo Shakiso, in the highlands of Guji, this coffee benefits from high altitude, ample rainfall, and steep mountain terrain. These are the conditions behind Guji's reputation for fruit-forward, expressive naturals. The result is a cup that's bright, delicate, and full of character. This lot comes from the Daanisa farmers' group, 44 smallholders who deliver their cherry to Dambi Uddo Washing Station. The group is named after the umbrella-shaped native tree that shades the region's coffee. Cherry is floated and sorted on arrival, then dried on raised beds for two to three weeks. It is raked regularly and hand-sorted along the way, and the lot is kept separate for full traceability. In the cup, expect ripe blueberry sweetness, a tangy lemon pie brightness, and a smooth milk chocolate finish. A juicy, layered filter coffee that's fruity and dessert-like without losing its clarity. Flavor Notes: Blueberry, Lemon Pie, Milk Chocolate Recommended for: Filter Best After: 14 days post roast
