Signal SD-DN-MO Two-Wire Moisture Sensor & DataNode for SDS Two-Wire Irrigation Controllers
The Signal SD-DN-MO Two-Wire Moisture Sensor & DataNode is a high-precision soil moisture monitoring device designed for direct integration with Signal SDS Series Two-Wire Irrigation Controllers. Combining a rugged soil moisture sensor with a pre-attached DataNode, the SD-DN-MO connects directly to the SDS two-wire path and continuously reports volumetric water content (VWC) back to the controller. Using 70 MHz frequency capacitance technology, the sensor is designed to provide stable moisture readings across different soil types while reducing the influence of salinity and soil texture. Moisture thresholds can be used to automatically skip or delay irrigation when soil moisture is already above a programmed setpoint, helping improve water efficiency and irrigation responsiveness. Suitable Applications Commercial landscape irrigation systems Agricultural and horticultural irrigation Sports fields and turf irrigation systems Parks and public landscape areas Soil moisture-based irrigation control Rainfall-responsive irrigation management Water-efficient irrigation systems Multi-zone sites requiring program-specific moisture monitoring Remote moisture monitoring through SignalCloud™ SDS two-wire irrigation systems requiring soil condition feedback Key Specifications Product Name Signal SD-DN-MO Two-Wire Moisture Sensor & DataNode Model SD-DN-MO Product Type Two-Wire Soil Moisture Sensor with Integrated DataNode Sensor Technology 70 MHz Frequency Capacitance Measurement Volumetric Water Content (VWC) Measurement Range 0%–100% VWC Volume of Influence 430 mL Compatible Controllers Signal SDS-50 and SDS-100 Connection Direct Connection to Signal SDS Two-Wire Path DataNode Pre-Attached Integrated DataNode Power Supply Powered through the Two-Wire Path; No External Power Required Maximum Sensors per Network Up to 4 Program Assignment Each Sensor Can Be Assigned to a Specific Irrigation Program Irrigation Override Can Skip or Delay Irrigation when Moisture Exceeds a User-Defined Setpoint Controller Feedback Live Moisture Percentage Display Cloud Platform SignalCloud™ Mobile App SDS-LINK Moisture History 7-Day Moisture Trend Graph through Supported Web and Mobile Interfaces Sensor Construction Epoxy Body with Stainless Steel Prongs Cable Length 5 m Sensor Dimensions (W × D × H) 51 × 24 × 75 mm Needle Length 54 mm Operating Temperature –40°C to +50°C Features Integrated soil moisture sensor and DataNode connects directly to the SDS two-wire network Measures soil moisture from 0% to 100% volumetric water content Uses high-frequency 70 MHz capacitance technology for stable soil moisture measurement Designed to reduce measurement variation caused by soil salinity and texture Continuously reports live moisture information back to compatible SDS controllers Moisture values can be viewed locally on the controller and remotely through SignalCloud™ User-defined moisture thresholds can automatically prevent unnecessary irrigation when soil is already sufficiently wet Can be assigned to individual irrigation programs for more precise zone management Supports up to four moisture sensors across a compatible network Seven-day moisture trend graphs provide historical visibility through supported web and mobile interfaces Powered directly from the two-wire path, eliminating the need for a separate local power supply Five-metre sensor cable provides flexible positioning within the monitored soil area Epoxy sensor body and stainless steel prongs are designed for demanding field environments Wide operating temperature range supports year-round outdoor installation Documentation & Downloads Signal SD-DN-MO Two-Wire Moisture Sensor Brochure Download
