C.F. Martin & Co. HD-28 Standard (2009) – Herringbone Rosewood Dreadnought – Good Condition This Martin HD-28 2009 — also searched as HD28 2009, Martin HD 28, used Martin HD-28, or second-hand Martin dreadnought — is a classic herringbone rosewood acoustic known for its powerful projection, rich overtones, and deep, full-bodied sound. Built with a solid Sitka spruce top and solid East Indian rosewood back and sides, the HD-28 delivers strong bass, warm mids, and clear, ringing trebles. Its scalloped X-bracing gives the guitar a more open and responsive character than the standard D-28, with excellent volume, sustain, and dynamic range. Traditional appointments include herringbone top trim, a zigzag backstrip, ebony fingerboard and bridge, and classic Style 28 dot inlays. The full-scale dreadnought body works especially well for strumming, flatpicking, accompaniment, and recording. This Martin HD-28 (2009) is in good condition with honest scratches and cosmetic signs of regular use. The guitar has good playability and sounds very good, offering the mature, resonant character expected from a well-played rosewood Martin. One lach on the case is missing. ⸻ Specifications – Martin HD-28 Standard (2009) Model: Martin HD-28 Standard Year: 2009 Series: Standard Series Body Size: Dreadnought, 14-Fret Top: Solid Sitka Spruce Back & Sides: Solid East Indian Rosewood Bracing: Scalloped X-Bracing Scale Length: 25.4” (645 mm) Nut Width: 1 11/16” (42.9 mm) Neck: Select Hardwood Neck Profile: Low Profile Fingerboard: Ebony Bridge: Ebony Fingerboard Inlays: Style 28 Dot Inlays Top Trim: Herringbone Backstrip: Zigzag Finish: Gloss Nitrocellulose Electronics: None Condition: Good Playability: Good Sound: Very good, rich and resonant Notes: Honest scratches and cosmetic wear from normal use
