Zebra DS4608-SR 1D/2D Handheld Barcode Scanner USB Kit with Stand (DS4608-SR7U2100SGW) - New

The Zebra DS4608-SR is the standard-range corded imager in Zebra's DS4600 series, built for retail checkout and point-of-sale work where one scanner has to handle everything at the counter. Its megapixel sensor, 800 MHz processor and Zebra's PRZM Intelligent Imaging software capture 1D and 2D barcodes on the first pass — printed labels, phone and tablet screens, and even damaged, dirty or poorly printed codes. Range is the DS4608-SR's party trick: it captures UPC codes from up to 28 in (71 cm) away, so cashiers can reach heavy or bulky items at the bottom of a cart without leaving the cashwrap. It also reads DotCode and dotted DataMatrix codes through cellophane, the tiny dense barcodes on jewelry tags, and wide barcodes on backroom cartons. Built-in OCR support collects data from ID cards and travel documents, and driver license parsing can populate age verification, returns and loyalty applications automatically. It is built for daily abuse: IP52 sealing shrugs off spills, the double-sealed optical system and recessed scan window protect the imaging eye, and the housing survives multiple 6 ft (1.8 m) drops to concrete plus 2,000 tumbles. Set it in the included gooseneck stand and it switches to hands-free presentation mode automatically; pick it up and it is a handheld scanner again.
