RESERVED - Japanese Four-Panel Byōbu Folding Screen
A large-scale Japanese four-panel folding screen (byōbu), hand-painted in ink and colour on a gold-toned ground. The scene depicts a bamboo grove, a pavilion by water and a small boat with distant mountains. Signed and sealed by the artist, mid-20th century. The dark wood frame is fitted with solid brass screen stands. Dimensions: Height: 185 cm. Total width: 190 cm (four panels, each 45 cm wide). Condition: The painted paper panels are clean, taut and intact; the brass hinges fold smoothly. The reverse and frame show cosmetic wear commensurate with age. There is historical, inactive woodworm around the inner wooden joints, not visible at the front. The screen is robust and stands independently.
