Story behind the product ~ Hand-carved from a solid piece of indigenous wood, this incredible vintage bowl made by Hausa people who are the largest ethnic group in West and Central Africa. They often features beautiful patterned carving details with signs of age and use. These bowls were originally used to prepare and serve food or used for storage for many years which in turn has created wonderful patina, wear and aging of the wood . They have been carefully restored with traditional methods in keeping with their original authenticity. Perfectly imperfect, with decorative repair works provides to these bowls an inherent value and beauty of the items. Each bowl is unique. There is no two of this one.
