Get a Quote Ask Warlond Plastics Product Information Everything you need to choose with confidence. Is Grey Tint Polycarbonate right for my application? Grey Tint Polycarbonate is a strong choice where you need high impact resistance, outdoor UV protection and a darker glazing appearance. The grey tint reduces glare and visibility compared with Clear Polycarbonate while still allowing light to pass through the sheet. It is particularly useful for pergolas, patios, privacy screens, skylights, outdoor glazing, machine guards and architectural applications where a clear sheet would be too transparent or bright. What does UV2 Polycarbonate mean? UV2 means the Polycarbonate Sheet has UV protection on both sides. This makes installation easier for suitable outdoor projects because either face of the sheet can be exposed. UV stabilisation helps reduce degradation caused by prolonged sunlight exposure compared with non-UV-stabilised Polycarbonate. What does Grey Tint do? Grey Tint Polycarbonate provides a darker appearance and reduced glare compared with Clear Polycarbonate. It still transmits light, so it should not be treated as a fully opaque privacy material. The amount of visibility through the sheet will depend on lighting conditions, viewing angle and the specific tint level. Key properties and benefits Very high impact resistance for glazing and guarding. UV2 protection on both faces. Grey tint for reduced glare and darker appearance. Lightweight compared with glass. Suitable for outdoor use in appropriate installations. Cold formable into suitable gentle curves. Heat formable using controlled fabrication techniques. Machinable by cutting, drilling and routing. Enquire About 2440 × 1830mm Sheets Custom cut-to-size Grey Tint Polycarbonate Warlond Plastics can provide custom cut-to-size Grey Tint Polycarbonate for suitable projects. Send us the required thickness, finished dimensions and quantity and we can quote the material and cutting. Our capabilities include panel-saw cutting and CNC routing for suitable Polycarbonate projects. Request a Cut-to-Size Quote Can Grey Tint Polycarbonate be cold bent or curved? Yes. Polycarbonate can be cold curved into suitable gentle-radius shapes without heating. This can be useful for curved screens, wind barriers, protective covers and architectural glazing. The minimum allowable cold-forming radius depends on sheet thickness and the requirements of the supplied Polycarbonate grade. Tight cold bends should not be forced. For critical curved applications, contact Warlond Plastics before ordering so the required radius can be considered. Can Grey Tint Polycarbonate be heat bent or formed? Yes. Polycarbonate is a thermoplastic and can be heat formed using controlled fabrication techniques. Heat forming is generally more appropriate where a tighter bend or more complex shape is required than can be achieved through gentle cold curving. Thickness, bend radius, heating method and moisture condition can all influence the finished result. Cutting, drilling and machining Grey Tint Polycarbonate Grey Tint Polycarbonate can be cut, drilled and routed using suitable tooling and fabrication techniques. Sharp tools, appropriate feed rates and good work support help reduce heat build-up and improve edge quality. Where mechanical fasteners are used, allow appropriate clearance for thermal movement and avoid excessive tightening against the sheet. Can Grey Tint Polycarbonate be glued? Yes. Polycarbonate can be bonded with compatible adhesive systems, but care is required because some solvents can create stress cracking or surface damage. For suitable fabrication projects, SCIGRIP WELD-ON 16 is one bonding option available from Warlond Plastics. Bonding suitability depends on joint design, fabrication stress, adhesive quantity and service conditions. Test the bonding method where finished appearance or structural performance is important. Shop WELD-ON 16 Ask About Bonding Polycarbonate Prefer Clear or Opal Polycarbonate? If Grey Tint is not the right appearance for your project, we also stock Clear UV2 and Opal UV2 Polycarbonate Sheets. Clear UV2 → Best where maximum visibility and transparent protective glazing are required. Opal UV2 → Best where diffused light and reduced visibility through the sheet are preferred. Grey Tint Polycarbonate vs Acrylic — which should I choose? Grey Tint Polycarbonate is usually the better choice where impact resistance, outdoor durability and cold-forming ability are important. Grey Tint Acrylic may be preferable where surface hardness, polished appearance and display quality are the main priorities.
