McCullough Afterword by Sarah Adina Smith Principal Photography by Clark Dugger, Dan Arnold and Joe Fletcher Hsu McCullough is an architecture and interior design studio based in Los Angeles specializing in custom home design rooted in comfort and unique beauty with a loyalty to natural light. Reaching for an expression that exhibits a simplification, we celebrate selected houses developed through the years 2007 - 2024. This anthology includes eighteen Hsu McCullough houses: Nine new builds and nine transformations of existing houses including illustrated floor plans of each. We also exhibit over a dozen sectional perspective drawings as well as over 360 color photographs and more than 60 black and white photographs including some construction photos. Book Size: 8.5 x 11 in / 279 x 216mm Format: Landscape Pages: 296 Photographs: 425 Illustrations: 25 Language: English Edition: Hardcover, ISBN 978-1-964490-70-0 //It is important for Peggy and Christopher to see the hand in the work, which is present in all of their houses, from the ink-black flagstone from India that covers the entire first floor of their own home to the hand-raked stucco on the exterior of Library House to the white oak, ipe and black walnut sheathing the interiors of the Palisades house. The latter, finished in 2022 and only in existence for a few short years before being taken by the Palisades fire, has been treated with the appropriate care and reverence here, its precious construction photos seeming to fade into the background, a reminder of the impermanence of architecture, the loss of a dear client’s home, and the sometimes devastating power of nature.
