Turquoise Maiden Figure by Sandra Quandelacy

A striking turquoise maiden figure depicting two corn maidens on one side with jet inlaid features, apple coral pendants and nicely incised corn rows with three coral inlaid dots - symbolizing kernels. There are two females incised on the opposite side with apple coral pendants. Sandra calls these kinds of carvings "Duality" - since it depicts mature women on one side and corn maidens on the other. Maidens symbolize the divine gift of the harvest, fertility, and life-giving abundance.
