Walgate 'W' Rosato 2022 10.5% (750ml)

Bright - Cranberry - Juicy Walgate Wines is run by Ben Walgate, formerly of Tillingham. Ben takes a slow and respectful approach to winemaking, marrying both ancient and modern practices. He and his team strive to make delicious wine in a way which has a positive presence on an environmental level, but also in terms of cultural, social, and economic impact. This rosado is made with Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes grown with minimal input at Crouch Valley and Little Grange vineyards in Essex. The grapes underwent a manual harvest, and were then destemmed and crushed together, before being left to soak for five days before being pressed to stainless steel and concrete tanks and one Georgian Qvevri, and left to age for eight months before bottling. The result is a brilliant cherry hued wine, bright, juicy, textural and long lived on the palate, with a twist of cranberry lassi. Fresh acid with a mouth-watering finish.
