With the assistant visibly confined inside, the magician introduces a blade at waist level. Then, in full view of the audience, the entire upper section of the cabinet slides sideways, apparently separating the assistant’s upper body from their legs. The illusion becomes even more impossible when the front sections are opened, giving the audience a startling view of the assistant’s upper and lower body apparently separated from one another. Despite the impossible displacement, the assistant remains animated throughout. Finally, the upper section is slid back into its original position. The cabinet is opened and the assistant steps out completely unharmed.
