Glenallachie 'Cadenhead' 17 years old 46%

Matured for a full 17 years in a parcel of Refill Butts, this Glenallachie from Cadenhead balances sweet and savoury notes with a hint of spice. The nose opens up with aromas of medjool dates, mocha and ground nutmeg. Followed by sweet walnuts and pistachios, floral heather and hints of passionfruit. On the palate there are notes of cinnamon and ginger, sweet marzipan and butterscotch sweets alongside pumpernickel bread. Notes of aniseed, brandy soaked cherries, rye toast and dark chocolate linger on the finish.
