Yaobian Glaze Bottle Vase
This Chinese porcelain bottle vase is handmade in Jingdezhen and finished with a rich Sang de Boeuf flambé glaze. Deep oxblood and burgundy tones cover the rounded body, developing into brighter crimson and subtle violet shades around the shoulder and long neck. The distinctive variations in colour are created naturally during firing as the copper glaze reacts to the heat and atmosphere within the kiln. This unpredictable process means that no two pieces have exactly the same colour or finish. Each vase is handmade using traditional techniques in Jingdezhen, an important centre of Chinese porcelain production for over 1,000 years. Due to the handmade nature of these pieces, slight variations in colour and glaze should be expected.
