Parachute Regiment - A Pair of George VI Presentation Figures, 1949

Figure height: 14.5cm (5.75in) Silver. A pair of figures modelled as airborne soldiers wearing the Mk II paratrooper helmet, Battledress and Denison smock. One wearing X-Type parachute with dismantled Sten Mk V submachine gun tucked under the harness for jumping, and the other equipped with 1944 Pattern webbing with large pack, twin ammunition pouches, entrenching tool and and cover, and the US M1910 water bottle carrier with press fasteners at the shoulders, and armed with a Sten Mk V. Height including base: 23.3cm (9.2in). Maker’s mark of The Goldsmiths & Silversmiths Co Ltd, 112 Regiment Street, London. Hallmarked London 1949.
