Snapshot 'Seeking Shade'

I loved the process of capturing that refreshing contrast between bright summer heat and cool, protective shade. Layering warm sun-baked ochres with deep leafy greens and cool slate shadows, I allowed the painting to evoke that wonderful feeling of stepping out of the direct sun into a tranquil, shaded sanctuary.
