Yes, you read that right! Merino wool does just fine if you hang it outside to air out for a few hours. Odors disappear, and the wool fibers spring back to their original shape. (It’s just like curly hair—or wait, actually, it is curly hair.) Of course, you can wash it, but only using the wool wash cycle with a small amount of wool detergent and a spin cycle no higher than 600 toeren. Don’t put it in the dryer (duh), and let it dry flat.
